Union Minister of State for Coal & Mines on two-day visit to SECL, meets Hon’ble Chief Minister in Raipur to discuss expansion of coal projects

Bilaspur/Korba 01 July 2025। Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, visited SECL’s Dipka Mega Project on the first day of his two-day SECL visit on 30 June 2025. On this occasion, he stated, “The coal sector has a vital role to play in building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the coal sector has achieved unprecedented progress. Where once there were concerns about coal shortages, today power plants have abundant coal reserves, ensuring uninterrupted energy production. Alongside coal production, special emphasis is being laid on green mining and environmental sustainability.
Coal India is also actively working in the domain of critical minerals. SECL’s contribution in meeting the nation’s energy requirements is highly commendable, and the company is also at the forefront of social responsibility. Humane initiatives like ‘SECL Ki Dhadkan’ stand testimony to this. Upon his arrival in Raipur today, the Hon’ble Minister first paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai. During the meeting, they discussed accelerating land acquisition and rehabilitation processes for the expansion of coal projects in the state.
At SECL’s Dipka Area, the Minister planted a sapling at Pragati House under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He also laid the foundation stone for the proposed entrance gate and security complex in the Dipka area. At the Dipka View Point, Shri Dubey reviewed mine production, productivity, and operations, engaging in detailed discussions with officials. He was briefed on the project’s progress, production capacity, and future plans through a presentation on the Dipka Mega Project.
Subsequently, the Minister felicitated several employees, including women workers, to encourage and recognize their contributions. He also visited the camps housing contract workers, interacted with them, inquired about their well-being, and reviewed the available facilities.
During the visit, SECL CMD Harish Duhan, Director (Technical – Operations cum Planning/Projects) N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (HR) Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) D. Sunil Kumar, CVO Himanshu Jain, Dipka Area General Manager Sanjay Kumar Mishra, and other senior officials accompanied the Hon’ble Minister.
